When gold was extracted by agitating cyanide leaching process, the gold was extracted by grinding gold-bearing material and cyanide leaching agent under the condition of continuously stirring and inflating in the agitating tank. According to the mixing principle and method of agitating tank, it can be divided into three kinds: mechanical agitating and leaching tank, air agitating and leaching tank ,mechanically air combined agitating and leaching tank.
The mixing of slurry in the mechanical agitating leaching tank is accomplished by the high-speed rotating mechanical agitator. Mechanical impellers are in the form of propellers, impellers or turbines etc. Figure 5-16 shows the screw agitator type agitation dip trough is a kind of mechanical agitation leaching tank which is commonly used in production at present. It is mainly made up of tank body, vertical shaft with propeller, central ore slurry receiving tube 1, circulating pipe, Cover board 6, slurry feed tube 8 and discharge tube 9 and other components. When the propeller rotates rapidly, the slurry in the tank flows into the central pulp receiving tube through each branch pipe, thus forming a whirlpool, and the air is sucked into the swirl, which makes the oxygen content in the pulp reach saturation value. When the propeller rotates, the slurry which enters into the receiving tube is pushed to the bottom of the tank, and then returns to rise along the groove wall from the bottom of the groove. The slurry circulation is realized again through the circulating pipe into the central ore slurry receiving tube, and the air is continuously inhaled into the slurry.
Mechanical agitating and leaching tank can make the pulp get even and strong stirring, and the air is inhaled into the ore continuously, so that the oxygen content in the pulp is higher, and it is more convenient to start the pulp after stopping, so the pulp will not press the propeller.
In production practice, several vertical compressed air pipes are sometimes inserted into the tank or air hoists are installed on the inner (outer) wall of the tank to increase oxygen content and stirring intensity in the slurry.
In addition to the propeller-type leaching tank, there are impeller type and other mechanical agitating and leaching tank for production practice.
2. Air agitating and leaching tank
The aerodynamics of compressed air is used to realize the uniform and strong stirring of the slurry in the air agitating and leaching tank. The structure of the tank is shown in Fig 5-17. This type of agitator is often referred to as Pachuca or Brownian air agitating and leaching tank. The upper part of the dip tank is a tall cylinder, and the bottom is a 60 degree cone, which is mainly composed of a tank, a central tube, a compressed air pipe, a feed pipe and a discharge tube. In operation, the pulp enters the tank through the feed pipe, and the compressed air pipe goes directly to the lower part of the central pipe, and the compressed air rises in the central tube in the bubble state, which makes the density of the pulp in the central pipe smaller than the pulp density in the outer space of the central pipe. As a result, the pulp in the central pipe is rising continuously, and the circular space pulp outside the central pipe is decreasing. The circulation of the pulp can be realized, and the mixing intensity of the slurry can be adjusted by adjusting the pressure and flow of compressed air.
Air agitating and leaching tank can be interrupted operation or continuous operation. During intermittent operation, slurry is discharged through the lower discharge pipe at the end of leaching. During continuous operation, the slurry is discharged through the upper discharge pipe and enters the next leaching tank.
The pulp mixed by compressed air agitating and leaching is very strong, which can make the oxygen content in the pulp close to the saturation value.
3. Mixed agitating and leaching tank
Air hoists and mechanical rakes are installed in the center of the mixed agitating and leaching tank of machinery and air, or air hoists are installed in the periphery of the grooves, with circular grooves of slurry circulating pipes and screw agitators in the center of the tanks, so they are also called rake mixers for soaking out grooves. Harrow mixer has Dole type, Denver type and Werman type in foreign countries. Fig. 5-18 is a kind of mixed agitatiing and leaching tank which is widely used in gold concentrator. It mainly consists of tank body, air lift pipe, rake, vertical shaft, chute, transmission device and so on. The slurry enters the slot through the inlet at the upper part of the slot, and in the trough it is stratified to the bottom of the trough. The thick slurry that settles at the bottom of the trough accumulates to the hollow riser by means of the rotation of the rake (1 ~4 rpm), and under the action of compressed air, The thick ore slurry rises along the air riser and flows into two chute with holes in the upper part of it, and flows back to the trough through the chute hole. The chute rotates along the vertical axis and the slurry distributes evenly in the trough. The slurry after leaching is discharged continuously from the outlet opposite to the feed port, thus realizing continuous operation.
This kind of agitating and leaching tank has low body, high leaching speed of gold and low consumption of cyanide.
At present, SJ type double impeller leaching and agitating tank is mainly used in our country, which belongs to mechanical and air mixed agitating and leaching tank, and the rotating speed of impeller is relatively low. Uniform air, steady ore flow, good mixing effect, small power, long service life.
