The technological process of gold extraction from cyanide carbon slurry is shown in Fig. 5-30, which mainly includes raw material preparation, cyanide agitation leaching, countercurrent adsorption of activated carbon, desorption of gold loaded carbon, electrodeposition of pregnant solution, smelting ingot and regeneration of activated carbon, etc.
Preparation of raw materials before leaching: after crushing, grinding and grading of raw materials containing gold ore, the required concentration and fineness of slurry are obtained. When we use head ore cyanide process, classifier overflow is concentrated and sent to cyanide leaching. When the gold ore is enriched by flotation before cyanide leaching, the gold concentrate is produced by stage overflow floatation. After the gold concentrate is reground to the required fineness, the ore sand and sawdust more than 0.589 mm are removed by sieving and the slurry of 45% concentration is sent to cyanide leaching after concentrated dehydration.
Agitated cyanide leaching: agitated cyanide leaching takes place in 6 ~ 8 aerated mechanical agitators in series. The bottom flow of the thickener first enters the mixing tank and agitates the slurry with air and lime milk for a few hours, adjusts the slurry pH value and oxygen content, then enters the cyanide leaching loop. It is necessary to add lime milk and cyanide and puff in air to maintain the pH value of slurry and the content of sodium cyanide in the fixed value. The operation is the same as that of agitated cyanide leaching in order to obtain the highest leaching rate possible.
    Activated carbon backflow adsorption: the slurry after agitation cyanide leaching into the reverse flow adsorption circuit of activated carbon slurry. The adsorption system is generally composed of 4~6 activated carbon adsorption tanks, through air lift and interchannel sieve to realize the reverse flow of slurry and activated carbon. At this time, the air, lime milk and cyanide can still be drumbed, but the last 1~2 activities can be obtained. The carbon adsorption tank does not add cyanide to reduce cyanide content in the lean slurry. The initial char sieves are mainly fixed surrounding sieves, bridge sieves or immersion sieves. The slurry after the sieves is returned to the trough, and the activated carbon is sent to the first trough. Regenerated carbon or new carbon is added to the last slot of the attachment tank, and the gold charcoal is adsorbed from the first adsorption. The tank is periodically transferred to the gold carbon desorption system for the desorption of gold and the regeneration of activated carbon. After the adsorption, the tailing solution is checked and screened (sieve hole is 0.701mm) for the recovery of lost gold bearing fine carbon back to tailing treatment process.
Gold-loaded carbon desorption: after removing wood chips and slime, Gold-loaded carbon is put into desorption column for gold and silver desorption. At present, Zadra method, organic solvent method, high pressure method and South Africa Anglo-American Company Law (A.R.R.L) are used to desorb gold loaded carbon.
Pregnant solution from desorption of gold-loaded carbon is sent to electrodeposition or zinc powder replacement precipitation, Activated carbon is feed to regeneration operation.
