The basic process of conventional carbon in pulp process is: the coarse granular activated carbon is put into the ore pulp after fine grinding, and the extraction of carbon channeling and gold-loaded carbon is separated by the screening process (using the screen mesh size smaller than activated carbon particle size).The following stringent conditions must be met for the adoption of this process:
2. Activated carbon must be strong enough to withstand the corrosion caused by many times through the screen;
3. The ore must be ground to almost all smaller than the size of the sieve hole, even if the precious metal has been dissociated by the monomer in the coarser size;
4. Measures must be taken to eliminate coarse particles such as wood chips and coarse sand.
There are two ways to make magnetic activated carbon.Magnetic particles were first bonded to carbon particles using a binder.Due to the use of more binders, the magnetic carbon caused a large number of pore blockages of activated carbon, seriously affecting the adsorption activity of carbon, difficult to be widely used.Later, fruit shells (mostly coconut shells) were used as raw materials, and magnetic materials were included in the particle size of carbon when producing carbon. They were magnetized uniformly, and after chemical heat treatment, the magnetic structure was formed to obtain the same soft magnetic properties inside and outside.In order to control the quality of carbon, the weak magnetic particles can be removed by dry magnetic separation before use.The particle size of magnetic carbon can vary over a wide range.In general, the particle size can be much smaller than that required by the process of separating the coal from the slurry using a sieve.
The use of magnetic carbon instead of ordinary activated carbon does not change the carbon in pulp process, but the magnetic separator instead of fine screen.
