The original production capacity of Wulaga cyanide plant in Heilongjiang province is 500t/d, and all slime cyanide process is adopted.The original design of sewage treatment system was alkali-chlorine process, and the annual sewage treatment cost is 678,900 yuan. The waste slurry after treatment is transported by pipeline to the tailings reservoir outside 3500m.
The tailings pond is built in the valley with a large volume, and the upper part clarifies the water depth at 2.0m. The designed waste water retention time is 25 days, so the tailings pond has a strong self-cleaning capacity.In order to reduce the treatment cost and improve the economic efficiency, a lot of research and demonstration work has been carried out in this mine, and a new process of self-purification and activated carbon adsorption in tailings pond has been proposed.In the new process, external drainage was pumped to two activated carbon adsorption columns in series, and cyanide and heavy metal were adsorbed on the activated carbon to achieve the purpose of eliminating cyanide.At the same time, the dissolved gold in the waste water is also adsorbed on the carbon to improve the recovery rate.The gold -loaded carbon was burnt and smelted by fire to produce synthetic gold.Practice has proved that the new technology is in line with the policy of transforming harm into benefit and protecting environment, and has good social, environmental and economic benefits.
In 1988, a total of 115 tons activated carbon was invested and 7.218 kg of gold was recovered, saving 706,200 yuan of sewage treatment costs and increasing annual benefits by over 1 million yuan.The cyanide concentration in the discharge wastewater was lower than 0.1mg/L.
