Copper mineral acid leaching - precipitation - carrier flotation (LPCF process for short)

Another chemical beneficiation process for refractory copper ore is leaching-precipitation-carrier flotation, or LPCF process for short.The method is applied to treat the refractory cupric oxide ore and medium ore of si-al type, calcium magnesium type , ferro-manganese type and middlings.Concentrate grade is higher than 20%, copper recovery is 6% ~40% higher than conventional flotation process.
When leaching, dilute sulfuric acid is generally used as leaching agent.When precipitation occurs, alkali or alkali salts are added to the leached slurry to neutralize free acids.Adding alkali sulfide to make copper ions colloidal copper sulfide precipitates.Flotation of the carrier, using copper concentrate (high grade concentrate produced by the process itself as far as possible) as the carrier, can save the separation and regeneration of the carrier and other processes.
The experimental results of an oxidized copper ore show that the concentrate grade is increased by 5% and the recovery rate by 6% ~ 7% compared with the conventional sulfide flotation process.The principle process of the test is shown in figure 6-1.
