What are the main factors affecting the separation of centrifugal separator?
The factors influencing the separation of centrifugal separator are the structural parameters and process parameters of the equipment.
(1) Equipment structure parameters
①Drum slope It directly affects the flow rate of pulp in centrifugal separator and thus affects the concentrate yield. The slope is large, the concentrate yield is small, the concentrate grade is high, and the recovery rate of concentrate is low. If the slope is too large, the slurry velocity is too fast, the concentrate is difficult to deposit on the drum wall and can not be separated. On the contrary, if the slope is too small, the concentrate yield is higher and the recovery rate is higher, but the concentrate grade is low, because of the low flow rate, the processing capacity will decrease. The slope should be right.
②Diameter and length of drum The diameter of the drum mainly affects the processing capacity. The diameter of the drum is large, the separation area is large and the processing capacity is high. In the process of a tin ore sludge, the diameter of the centrifuge concentrator is 800 mm. Processing capacity can reach 30 tons / (day ·station) or so.
The drum length mainly affects the recovery rate, the drum length and the settling time of ore particles are also longer, the recovery rate is higher, and otherwise it is low.
(2) The process parameters include the feeding ore granularity , the feeding pulp volume , the feeding pulp concentration , the feeding pulp time and the rotating speed of the drum , etc .
①The feeding ore granularity It has been proved by production practice that when the upper limit of feed size of centrifugal concentrator is more than 74 μm, it is difficult to wash concentrate,it affects processing index also. The effective particle recovery range of general centrifugal concentrators is between 37 and 10 μm. Of course, it should be based on the properties of ore and the requirements of mineral processing products. After the experiment, the most suitable ore size is determined.
②The feeding pulp volume The feed volume of centrifugal concentrator affects the flow film on the drum wall. If the feed volume is too large, the flow velocity is fast, the separation effect is low, and the separation effect is not even effective. Figure 3-26 is the test result of a certain sand and tin ore. The relation between ore feed volume and processing index is indicated.
③The feeding pulp concentration The concentration of feed concentration has great influence on the production capacity of centrifugal separator, and also affects the processing index. Figure 3-27 is the relationship between pulp concentration and processing index.
We can see from Fig. 3-27, under the same conditions and within a certain range of concentrations, With the increase of pulp concentration, concentrate yield and recovery increased, but the grade of concentrate is decreased. The suitable feed pulp concentration should be determined according to the requirement of ore properties on product quality. When treating tin ore slime, the proper pulp concentration for roughing is from 20% to 25%, for cleaning is 15-20%.
④The feeding pulp time increases When the centrifugal separator is in the process of continuous feeding, with the increase of feeding pulp time, until the instantaneous tailing grade increases close to the feeding grade, and it does not play a separation role at this time. Therefore, the feeding puip time should be appropriate. The feeding pulp time is too long and the recovery rate is low. If the ore grade is too short, the concentrate grade will be low, the equipment effective utilization time is less, and the processing capacity is low. When the tin ore sludge is generally treated, the feeding pulp time is suitable for 3 minutes. Figure 3-28 is the curve of the relationship between the feeding puip time and the processing index.
⑤The rotating speed Increasing The rotating speed of the drum can increase the centrifugal force, accelerate the settling of ore particles, increase the recovery rate, but decrease the grade of concentrate. The appropriate rotational speed should be determined according to the properties of the ore and the reasonable match with the volume of ore feed.
It should be pointed out that the effects of the above factors all refer to the general situation. For the separation of ores of different properties, the optimum processing conditions should be determined by means of experiments.
